Volunteer with Ojai Trees
• Plant trees at a Neighborhood Planting Event:
Throughout the year we have a variety of Tree Planting Events. Click
here to see the Calendar. We work in teams and plant
trees using group energy and high spirits. It only takes about three
hours on a Saturday morning, then we reconvene for a free yummy
snack lunch. Here's what you need to know :
You must register in advance to volunteer
; contact us by e-mail,
state what dates you'd like to volunteer. We'll send you a message
with the detailed information about how to prepare and where to
meet up.
You will be assigned to a team of volunteers on
the day of your commitment. Tree planting is completed by noon and
we finish up with a free yummy snack lunch party.
You will be trained and supervised by a trained
planting supervisor. Tools and materials will be provided by Ojai
Trees.
The work is easy and fun because "many hands
make the work light". There will be strong people on each team
to do lifting and tough digging. All trees are 15 gallon size.
• Care for trees at a Tree Care Event:
Tree care events are scheduled throughout the year. This is light
work: pruning, checking ties and supports, watering. It's a good
opportunity to learn the basics of young tree care. Contact

volunteer.
• Become a Neighborhood Forester:
A Neighborhood Forester is someone who is interested in having more
trees grow in their neighborhood. Is that you? Supported by Ojai
Trees, they reach out to their neighbors, help select the right
tree for the right spot, and help to arrange a tree purchase. Then
an Ojai Trees volunteer team plants the trees at low cost using
group energy and high spirits. Being a Neighborhood Forester is
an easy task that doesn't take much time, and is a great way to
build relationships and make a positive contribution to healing
the world right where you live. If you are interested, contact

• Become a Tree Planting Supervisor
A Tree Planting Supervisor completes a training course to learn
how to lead a group of volunteers in planting a tree correctly.
